What's On - Art Classes and Events in September 2025

Cooler days, darker evenings, let’s get you booked in for some art & craft activities to wind down after the summer!

We’ve something for all ages this coming month. Our workshops are led by experienced art facilitators and the company will be friendly and relaxed so come along, and why not grab a friend and make a social event of it?

Tots to Teens - Art & Craft Workshops for Children

There’s a face-change for Messy Mornings in September, Jenni is taking over for a few weeks!

Graham’s monthly iCreate is back (check out his Halloween Minecraft club on the workshops page too!)

Sam is back with Comic Book Club!

Introducing Bangor Sketch Club - Jenni’s reformatted sketch walks, now with a Junior ticket option for 12-17s. Must be with a participating adult.

Louise’s Life Drawing Bangor Sessions have a clothed hour for the first part of the monthly Saturday session.

Workshops for Adults

We always feel a bit rejuvinated when September comes around!

We have two additions in the walking tour department - Carla Hodgson relaunches Bangor Street Art Tours with a new meeting point at the train station. Jenni Robinson leads the inaugural sketch meet of Bangor Sketch Club - her old sketching classes reformatted in to a user-friendly membership, with visiting artist tickets available too.

Heather connects to culture with the Celtic Wheel of the Year inspired crafts, while life drawing provides a session for all abilities, whether relaxation or technical practice.

Oonagh returns with mindful adults art journalling, while Magdalena’s oil painting provides a relaxing guided session.

Gabriela’s jewellery classes remain popular both with the Jewellery Social on a Friday, and longer themed jewellery making class on the Saturday.

Anarchomedy is absolutely not to be missed this month - fresh from their rave reviews at Edinburgh Fringe, we can’t wait to see what’s next for this comedy writing group!

Although these classes are specifically for over 18s, some of our adult class facilitators may accept younger participants by arrangement, with an additional participating guardian, subject to availability and the suitability of the activity. Please get in touch with the facilitator to enquire.

We love to see it! The City comes alive at night for Late Night Art Bangor.

Volunteering at Boom Studios - Get Involved!

We’re always looking to welcome new volunteers to Boom. Recent events include Sea Bangor stall where we promoted Boom Studios, or you may like to help Marianne with Messy Mornings, lend a hand at Chilli Fest graffiti wall, pick up a roller for a spot of DIY, or welcome visitors to Late Night Art Bangor. Always changing, always flexible, always welcome.

We’re excited to install the exhibition of all your sketchbooks and wall art this month! Visit the exhibition during Boom’s open times from 19th Sep - 6th Oct and we particularly would love you to visit the celebration evening for it as part of Late Night Art Bangor (25th Sep).
