Make a Piece of Marino!
We’re excited to invite you to Holywood Old School on Thurs 6th August for a mosaic tiling session.
Translink have commissioned international mosaic and glass artist Helen McLean to create vibrant mosaic panels to be installed at Marino train station. Boom Studios has been involved in collecting local people’s design ideas and values via public engagement sessions and art workshops in the Holywood Schools, and these have all now been collated and passed on to Helen in consideration of the final design. Check some of them out in the gallery below!
We welcome you to Holywood Old School to literally have a hand in creating this part of your community’s artwork, by contributing to the actual making of mosaic areas.
Times are as below - click on your preferred time to book:
10:00am – 11:30am: Session for local professional artists
(professional artists will receive a confirmation email inviting them to volunteer at subsequent times - this is not required to participate but would be appreciated if you are available!)
12:00pm – 1:30pm: Teens age 15-17
3:45pm – 5:30pm: Teens age 15-17
Sessions are £ free of charge, but booking is essential - please reserve your place on the desired class via the links above.
