Carla Hodgson

Building on my artistic education, in Christmas 2016 I started window painting. Every year since then I have been perfecting my craft, going from working on residential Christmas, Halloween, and Birthday windows, to now working for commercial, corporate, and national charities.

In June 2020 I decided to become a full-time artist, I took the plunge left my part-time jobs and took on an independent workspace at Boom Studios. I felt my passion and skill base deserved my full attention. Since then, I have developed as a mural artist, and this part of my practice is something I’m continuously working to develop. I am regularly sought out for commissions of all types, including abstract pieces and portraits. I am also a workshop facilitator. In the past, I’ve held regular workshops such as Rock Club, Art Mash up and a weekly afterschool’s club in Boom Studios. I regularly work with community groups and at local council-run events. I also hold the role of Creative Outreach Officer at Boom Studios providing a weekly art drop-in workshop space.
