Late Night Art Bangor - September

Thursday 24th September - Sketchbook Library, Poetry Workshop & Readings, Wee Residencies, Open Studios

80A Main St, Bangor & 51 Main St, Bangor

Sketchbook Library

We are excited to bring back the Sketchbook Library Project for 2026. Inspired by the Brooklyn Sketchbook Library project, and made possible with a generous donation of sketchbooks from Christopher Murphy, artists have been submitting sketchbooks & artworks inspired by their pages, from near and far.

Remaining sketchbooks from last year formed the basis of the library collection and will also be out for viewing, it’s a really lovely thing to pause and browse.

Poetry Readings and workshops

In a doff of the cap to Aspects Literary Festival, this month we have three poets performing readings, as well as poetry writing workshop sessions with poet Dr Alan Kennedy-Asser in the workshop.

Wee residencies - display of work from 8 High St

We have been working with a local property developer and some local artists spent the day in the beautiful heritage building at 8 High Street, making art in it/responding to it. You can see the pieces made on the day in our hallway at 80A Main St.

Open Studios

We have various artists in their studios around the main building - keep an eye on the Boom 2 shutter over at 51 Main St, if it’s open, someone’s in to visit!

LNAB events are train-friendly, running between 6-9pm, with the hope that you will visit multiple venues and soak up all the arts sector has to offer. Which in Bangor, is a lot!

With thanks to all our volunteers, and to you all for visiting and making it a continued success!
