Linking Generations Project Wraps up in time for Christmas

Boom Studios recently had the honour of facilitating the Art Across Ages project on behalf of Linking Generations.

3 Boom Facilitators (Oonagh Linden, Heather Cassidy and Jenni Robinson) each devised a 6-week programme to deliver in a care home setting, with a local school in partnership.

With activities ranging from textile art to collage, drawing/painting and papercraft, over the 6 weeks local school children of varying ages partnered with residents to talk about the themes and assist them to make the artworks.

With great thanks to our participants from Loughview Care Home/Trinity College Belfast; Bramblewood/Bloomfield PS and Hawthorn House/Bloomfield Collegiate, as well as Linking Generations and all the supporting dignitaries who supported the project and attended the end-of-project celebrations.

This has been a project with significant meaning and impact, evoking memories and fostering great relationships between the participating organisations and we hope to establish opportunities for more inter-generational projects in the future.
