Heritage Sketching Project - We Need You!

Boom Studios is excited to recruit participants for our heritage sketchbook project, due to take place this June.  Free of charge, and including a pack of sketching materials for each person, all levels of artistic ability are welcome to take part.

Led by studio landscape artist Jenni Robinson, and funded by Ards & North Down Borough Council, 10 residents and visitors to Bangor will meet one evening per week for 4 weeks to record the seafront in its pre-redevelopment state.  Starting at Pickie and ending at the Royal Hotel end of the front, participants are invited to sketch, collage photos, add memories and stories, and otherwise fill in their sketchbook as a historical snapshot of Bangor in 2023.

Anyone with a connection to Bangor is invited to apply, however you must be available to participate in all sessions, or agree to visit the specific sites in your own time to complete any missing sessions within the project window.  Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  Under-18s would be welcome with a participating adult.  The sketchbooks will be submitted for scanning and exhibition at the end, and will be donated to the North Down Museum at the end of the project for archive/future display.
