3 Boom Studios Artists Successful in ForM Selection

Congratulations to our 3 studiomates Les Sharpe, Jenni Robinson and Martin Williamson, who have each had an artwork selected for the prestigious ForM sculpture exhibition this year.

Artists from around Ireland were chosen by a panel to bring their concepts to life, for exhibition in Bangor’s Walled Garden throughout June.  Artworks respond to the garden environment, with some large pieces making obvious statements, and other, more subtle works needing to be sought out.

This exciting exhibition is one of the highlights of Ards and North Down Borough Council’s annual Arts exhibition programme, giving visitors the unique opportunity to experience art in a different context, outside the traditional gallery setting.

Each artist has approached their submission from a different perspective.  Les has used body-casting techniques with resin embellishment to create a figurative piece, Martin’s concept marries his ceramic anatomical heart sculpture with nature & climate commentary, and Jenni has fabricated an aluminium panel from recycled cans on which to paint a garden-inspired mural piece.

The pieces are installed now, with the official launch tomorrow on 1st June.  The exhibition runs throughout June and works are available for sale - check Culture Ards & North Down for more information after the launch press.
