Boom Workshops Selected for "Experience Ards & North Down" Listings

We’re very proud to say that 2 of our facilitators had event proposals accepted in to the Experience Ards & North Down listings.  We are looking forward to working with the local tourism team, welcoming both residents and visitors to experience art & culture in our Borough.

Marianne Kennerley will bring the “Wee Birds” children’s craft event to Castle Espie, and Jenni Robinson introduces “Scene to Studio”, right here in Boom.  Bookings for both will be available via the Visit Ards & North Down website shortly (link below).

Sample of “Wee Birds” by Marianne Kennerley

Wee Birds - 14th April - WWT Castle Espie, Comber

Join Marianne at WWT Castle Espie, where you will make your wee birds out of collage & mixed media, inspired by the wonderful views and residents of the wetlands site.  A visit out on to the wetlands is encouraged, and a child’s admission is included in the Wee Birds ticket (accompanying friends and family can find rates via Castle Espie).

Landscape Painting with Jenni Robinson

Scene to Studio - 22nd June - Boom Studios & The Walled Garden, Bangor

Jenni will lead a small group on a day-long immersive art experience, including:

  • Morning tea in the studio to receive your sketching pack - yours to keep!

  • A walk to Bangor’s beautiful Walled Garden, with a guided sketching session inspired by Summer blooms, garden structures and the wonderful ForM sculpture exhibition

  • Delicious gourmet lunch by Lightfoot Deli

  • An afternoon introduction to landscape painting, where you will create an original canvas/panel based on your sketches and/or photographs from the morning session.

All materials are included and are artist-grade, ensuring the most enjoyable quality of experience and artworks.  This session is aimed at all levels from hobbyist, to experienced artists seeking to add a sketchbook practice to their work, or simply enjoy a day of immersive art in likeminded company.
