Creative Tourism in Ards & North Down

Workshops and Classes

At Boom Studios, we understand the need for unique and engaging activities to enthrall visitors to our Borough. Our workshops and classes are designed to provide such experiences, where guests can learn new skills, explore their creative side, and immerse themselves in the local culture. We partner with a range of experienced arts facilitators to offer these creative workshops, ensuring that each class is not only fun but also rooted in our local traditions and crafts.

Tailored Itineraries

We believe in offering our guests a personalized experience. We can arrange a menu of private or one-off classes that fit your guests’ stay and interests. Whether for families or culture vultures, seeking to explore our beautiful landscapes or experience our rich history, we can help you ensure every guest has a memorable and enriching experience in Ards & North Down.

Collaborative Events

Join us! We love to partner with local businesses to enhance our events and showcase the vibrant community spirit of Ards & North Down. Whether it's catering for a specific event to make our workshop a one-stop shop for the day, involving us in your festivals showcasing the best of our local cuisine and culture, or hiring Boom to provide an event in your special venue, our collaborative events are all about celebrating what makes Ards & North Down special.

Sample Events:

Messy Play for All Ages: Whether for young families, or business clients seeking a unique way to explore problem solving and strategy, messy sessions will unleash your inner creative child!

Sketch Walking Tours: Chat all things sketchbook use before heading out for a short walk in to one of Bangor’s landscapes. Choose coast, woodland, or urban, and if the weather is truly terrible enjoy the hospitality in our workshop as Jenni guides you through a technical still-life drawing session instead.

Street Art Walking Tours: Carla is our resident muralist and expert on Bangor’s street art and the local/international artists who created it. Enjoy a stroll around them and sample some of Bangor’s bars or cafes on the route.

Life Drawing: For those seeking to explore the human form and really hone their technical drawing skills, join our experienced life model Louise for a life drawing session.

Painting Classes: We have a range of facilitators who run painting classes. Choose from Abstract, Watercolour, Landscape, Oils, or ask us about tailoring a specific session for you.

Macrame: Mindful, practical activity, join Claire to learn this cord-knotting technique and be amazed as it forms beautiful wall art, a plant hanger or even a deckchair!

Printmaking: Sample a simple, traditional method of printmaking with either linocut, or drypoint etching. Create beautiful illustration, or stationery such as greetings cards and notelets.
