Outline Mapping of the Creative and Cultural Sector in Ards & North Down.

We are delighted to be partnering with Ards Business Hub to begin mapping the Creative and Cultural Sector in Ards and North Down. Including the people and the work that they do, the places and the current support that they receive.

Ards Business Hub and Boom Studios have identified that there are opportunities for the local creative and cultural sector, however the information on the local  sector is scant and out dated.

Through this partnership research,  the two organisations would like to inform further project development and to provide an understanding of what the current sector looks like.

We have created a short survey that can be completed here.

Our  definition of "the local cultural and creative sector"  is an individual or enterprise that creates original work and sells products, services or other intangible items that are based on cultural values  or other artistic creative expressions, either individually or collectively.  These individuals should either  live and/or work in Ards and North Down Borough Council Area.

Boom Studios is a creative hub based in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Its purpose is to provide headspace and workspace for the local creative sector.

It provides studios & workspace, community learning and professional support along with opportunities for the creative and cultural sector.

Ards Business Hub has been providing support to businesses for over 30 years since its establishment in 1988. This support has been provided through advice to those forming and growing their businesses and through the provision of reasonably priced property.

They  offer business support through a range of pre-start programmes that provide small/medium enterprises with free support, training and mentoring. Our goal is to help develop your business idea and the skills required to take that leap into self-employment.
